The Brush Saver Bands feature many beneficial purposes. Older Brushes with frayed or "blown out" bristles are saved from being turned into dust brushes by gently holding the bristles into their intended position. For both new and old brushes, The Brush Saver Bands keep brushes from separating or "fingering" after a days work when paint can begin to dry in the stock of the bristles by again gently holding the bristles form. Last and maybe most importantly, the time and money saved during cleanup. The bands basically create a false ferrel where paint will stop and dry. Instead of having to scrape and wire brush the dried paint from your paint brush ferrel, simply rinse it from the bristles. On occasion a wire brush will still need to be used for dried paint. But, cleaning dried paint from the bristles is much easier and faster than trying to get the paint from the ferrel.
Yes,
As mentioned before. Ease of clean up and keeping the integrity of the bristles.
Yes,
There are minimum size orders, but you can choose your color, as well as, have your company name and information added.
The bands work with water-based, latex, and acrylic paints. They will lose their shape if exposed to prolonged use in solvent based materials.
The bands have been tested on numerous styles of wall brushes. The most common brushes such as Purdy, Wooster, Corona and Premier have similar shapes though the measurements may vary slightly. The bands fit all the brushes that have curved ends. The bands do not fit as securely on the larger bodied brushes that are more rectangle shaped (These aren’t as popular of a style, but are still important to some). We are working on a design for these that we hope to bring to market soon.
Whether we were doing a faux finish lime-wash or just simply cutting in walls, the end of the day was always a challenge. As a foreman, I had to ensure that our guys weren’t cutting the last 30 minutes to an hour of the day trying to clean their brushes while also balancing their need to get off on time. Guys would, at times, wrap tape around the ferrel of the brush to help the paint from reaching the stock of the brush. By the end of the day, the tape had long failed and was either lying on the ground or stuck to the bottom of someone’s shoe. The paint would ultimately wick up to the ferrel and clean up was still difficult.
If you are the owner of the company who allots your employees the time to clean their brushes or if you are the painter who’s responsibility it is to clean them at the end of the day, on your own time. Either money is saved on paying someone to clean it or time is saved on having to clean it. Either way it's a win.
First, wet the band for a smoother slide. Then, slide the band over the handle of the brush down onto the ferrel. Line the band up with the edge of the bristles and simply slide until you’re comfortable with the distance of the band on the bristles. Typically the band overhangs onto the bristle 3/8"-1/2". You can go less or more. Just make sure it is secure on the ferrel and evenly touching the bristles all the way around. For painters who like to pre-wet their brush, the band will slide much easier. If you prefer a dry brush, only wet the band with water. This will cut down on friction.
